Drawing upon years of craftsmanship and development, this model has established itself as a benchmark in comprehensive design, performance, and functionality, consistently leading the industry. Every Peisheng Dragon Boat is certified by both the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) and the Chinese Dragon Boat Association (CDBF), ensuring full compliance with international competition standards.

Multi-Layer Hull Construction

Hull Material: Fiberglass, unsaturated resin, multi-layer hull structure.

This construction method provides excellent durability and stability, making it ideal for long-term use in training and competition environments.

RTM Process (Resin Transfer Molding)

Hull Material: Fiberglass, unsaturated resin, PVC foam core, sandwich structure.

The RTM process offers a smoother finish, lighter weight, and superior rigidity, delivering optimized hydrodynamics and enhanced racing performance.

Dragon Boats - Maintenance & Care

1. Gunwale Maintenance

The maintenance of the gunwale is extremely important. During production, the gunwale is coated with waterproof and UV-resistant paint usually. Due to abrasion, changes in climate, or the use of the boat in certain water conditions (e.g., seawater), the surface paint may peel off. If this occurs, repaint the affected areas as soon as possible using waterproof and UV-resistant paint. When repainting, it is recommended to apply several thin layers rather than one thick layer many times, allowing each coat to dry completely before applying the next. This ensures a smoother and stronger surface finish. The same method should be applied to the maintenance of all wooden accessories of the boat.

Steps:

① Sand the entire gunwale evenly with fine sandpaper.

② Apply repaint as thinly as possible. Let each coat dry completely before applying the next one. Repeat this process three to four times.

2. Hull Maintenance

The dragon boat hull features a double-wall structure, consisting of an inner and outer layer separated by a narrow cavity. Therefore, special care must be taken during storage and handling to avoid structural stress or deformation. If the gelcoat surface of the hull is scratched, the underlying fiberglass may become exposed and vulnerable to damage. This must be repaired immediately. For major impact damage or large-area cracks, contact a professional fiberglass repair shop or the manufacturer. Minor damage can be repaired by applying a new layer of gelcoat, allowing it to dry thoroughly, and then polishing the area for a smooth finish.

3. Transport and Handling

Improper handling during launching or hauling can easily cause damage to the dragon boat. Use sufficient manpower to lift the boat by its built-in carrying handles. Avoid dragging or sliding the boat on the ground, concrete, or sand. Whenever possible, use boat trolleys, cradles, or trailers to launch and retrieve the boat. Never drag the boat on the ground, as this can scratch or damage the bottom of the hull.

4. General Maintenance

① After using the dragon boat equipment, it is necessary to keep the dragon boat clean and dry as much as possible. Try to avoid water accumulation in the cabin. After each use of the dragon boat equipment, timely cleaning and drying should be carried out.

② Cover the boat when not in use. When the dragon boat is not being used, cover it with a protective tarpaulin or custom boat cover to shield it from direct sunlight, acid rain, and environmental corrosion. This minimizes the frequency of maintenance and extends the lifespan of wooden components.

③ Inspect for water ingress. A small amount of splashed water inside the hull during paddling is normal. However, if a significant amount of water accumulates, inspect the hull immediately for cracks or structural damage and carry out repairs if necessary.

5. Storage

When the dragon boat is not in use for an extended period, please follow these correct storage methods:

① Keep the boat clean and dry.

② If necessary, the damaged wood parts should be re-sanded and repainted. This work should be completed before winter.

③ If the boat is stored outdoors, place it upside down on a stand or bench to prevent deformation caused by long-term pressure on the bow and stern. If stacking multiple boats, do not exceed three boats per rack, and cover them with a waterproof tarpaulin to protect from corrosion, and debris meantime.
